My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A wonderfully constructed examination of a family’s life over three generations and the complexity of Bangladesh culture meeting USA. Very enjoyable for the most part and some beautifully poetic imaging. Great writing. I think it fell away at the end sadly and I would have preferred to finished with the lives of the living with more depth to be explored in the older ages. Great development of relationships and tremendous understanding of human behaviour and thinking.
